New Year Resolution – Prevention from Cancer

New Year’s Day is the most popular time of the year for people to hit the proverbial “reset button.” Some resolve to lose weight, while others hope to spend more time with family and friends. But what is it about the New Year that brings hope for such change and why do people make resolutions?

Resolutions provide a path for change. People make New Year’s resolutions to improve their health and well-being while avoiding cancer. Although we cannot control how cancer reacts, but, we can think about solutions.

Cancer has dramatically increased around the world. According to the researchers behind these data, it is primarily due to increased lifespan, genetics, and some environmental or behavioral factors. Although cancer cannot be entirely avoided, it can be minimised by making healthy choices, such as eating the appropriate foods, avoiding bad habits, and exercising.

Putting these Preventative Measures, you may be able to lower your risk of cancer for many years to come.

Keep Moving

Regular physical activity helps to stay at a healthy weight, which regulates hormones and keeps the immune system clean. Exercise has been shown to improve physical performance, reduce weariness, and enhance the quality of life. A daily workout of 30 minutes at a moderate level is beneficial to your Cancer.

Reduce Consumption of Red and Processed Meats

It is advised to consume meat to maintain a healthy diet, build muscle, and provide nutrition. Nonetheless, eating a lot of red and processed meat increases the risk of bowel and colorectal cancer. They contain heme iron, which can damage the cells in the bowel, leading to cancer.

Examine your Alcohol Intake

Regularly consuming large amounts of alcohol can harm the liver, causing inflammation, which may explain why it increases the risk of liver cancer. The chemicals from alcohol harm DNA and prevents the body from repairing it. Colon and rectal cancers have been associated with a threat of alcohol usage.

Consumption can be limited, by having it moderately depending upon the sex and age.

Be a Nonsmoker

Tobacco damages almost all of the body’s organs and causes sickness and impairment. It has historically been so widespread and is associated with different types of cancers. After quitting smoking for 10 to 15 years, the chance of developing lung cancer decreases by half.

Smoking causes harm to more than just the mouth, throat, and lungs. The smoke enters the blood and increases the likelihood of the bladder, pancreas, breasts, and other organsdeveloping cancer.

Strive to Eat Healthily

A generally healthy diet may reduce the risk of cancer. Eating the right food helps to maintain the required calories which in turn reduces cancer scares. According to research, a plant-based diet that consists of fiber-rich foods, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds, has the ability to prevent cancer.

Protect your Skin

The possibility of preventing and curing skin cancer is very high. In most cases, excessive exposure to UV rays damages skin cells and results in skin cancer. Hence, protecting the skin from the sun will lower the chances of cancer.

Invest in Screenings

It is crucial to undergo regular screening examinations. When cancer is detected early by screening, there is a possibility for treatment and cure. This may improve survival.  Also, it is important because certain diseases have no obvious symptoms or signs.

“The New Year offers a blank slate — an opportunity to get things right. When we set New Year’s resolutions, we are utilizing a very important concept called self-efficacy, which means that by virtue of aspiring to a goal and following through on it, we have to have a sense of control over what’s happening in life.”
